Morris County (Kansas)

Morris County is a county located in the state of Kansas in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Council Grove.

Geography

The County is located in east-central Kansas and has an area of 1820 square kilometers, of which 14 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Geary County, Wabaunsee County, Lyon County, Chase County, Marion County and Dickinson County.

History

Morris County was formed on 11 February 1859. It was named after Thomas Morris, a U.S. Senator from Ohio.
