Morristown Line

The Morristown Line is a 92.3 km long railway line in the north of the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is owned by Amtrak and is operated by New Jersey Transit transportation company. The track is one of the two branches of the Morris and Essex lines and has 26 stations.

It was built mainly in the years 1836-1854. Its beginning is at Pennsylvania Station (New York City ) or at the Hoboken train station; Terminus is Hackettstown, New Jersey. The route is electrified to the station Dover, where the trains start on weekdays and end. On working days operate on the route 60 trains landward and 58 toward New York.

Every working day approximately 50,000 passengers are carried, approximately 13.5 million annually. Mostly commuters and students use the route.
