Morshausen

Morshausen is a municipality in the Rhein- Hunsrück district, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Emmelshausen.

Geography

Morshausen is located six kilometers from the River Moselle and ten kilometers from Emmelshausen to 334 m altitude.

To Morshausen includes the living space house on the Bröhl.

History

A fragment of a late Neolithic (ca. 4400-2200 BC) Felsovalbeils, which is preserved in the length of 9.3 cm and width 6.4 cm, surely bears witness of earlier settlement activities farmers. The ax, which was a few hundred meters west of the village found, consists of Devonian quartzite, which is present in the vicinity. Comparable Steinbeilfunde were discovered by members of the Archaeological Society Arrata also in the neighboring villages Beulich, quirks and Mermuth. Various reading finds from the Roman period (tile, ceramic, etc. ) near the village are to be regarded as evidence of an estate (villa rustica).
