Morska Wola

Morska Wola was a Polish settlement in the Brazilian state of Paraná.

History

In the 1930s, lived about 150,000 Poles in Paraná. 1933 sent the Polish League Morska i Kolonialna ( maritime and colonial society ) to acquire land their representative Stefan Strzemieński to Brazil. The League Morska i Kolonialna bought 30,000 acres of land in the state, and distributed it to the in 1935 newly arriving settlers from Poland. Due to the settlement hostile attitude of the Brazilian government under Getúlio Vargas Dornelles and nachlassendem interest on the part of the Polish population, the project was to establish a Polish colony in Brazil, in 1938 abandoned.
