Morten Frost

Morten Frost Hansen ( born April 4, 1958 in Nykøbing Zealand ) is a former Danish badminton player.

Sporting career

Morten Frost was in the 1980s, Europe's best badminton players in the men's singles and was for twelve years to the first three players in the world rankings.

He twice won the Danish Junior Championship eight times and the Danish Championship.

After his successes in the junior he made in 1977 attracted international attention when he won the international championships of the USSR. From then on his badminton career went uphill. Until the early nineties, he won all the Grand Prix tournaments and numerous other tournaments around the world. Alone at the All England Championships he reached from 1982 to 1989 in unbroken succession the final and won four times. 1984 and 1986 was Frost European champion in men's singles. The German Open he won the 1986, 1988 and 1989. From 1976 to 1991 played in the Danish national team.

However, success was frost in his career as a player denied. He stood twice in the final of the World Championships, but lost both times against his Chinese opponent in the third set: 1985 against Han Jian and 1987 against Yang Yang.
