Morten Madsen

Morten Madsen ( born January 16, 1987 in Rødovre ) is a Danish professional ice hockey player who is since 2013 in the Hamburg Freezers of the DEL under contract.

Career

Morten Madsen began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of the Rødovre Mighty Bulls for their first team, he made his debut in the highest Danish league in season 2002/ 03. Subsequently, the winger moved to the youth department of the Swedish top teams Frölunda HC, for the first team he in five games in the Elitserien standing on the ice in the 2005/06 season. The 2006/07 season spent the Dane at the Tigres de Victoriaville of the Canadian Junior Football League QMJHL. From 2007 to 2009 he played for the Houston Aeros, Minnesota Wild their partners had selected him in the NHL Entry Draft in 2005 in the fourth round as a total of 122 players in the American Hockey League and came parallel to five appearances for the Texas Wildcatters of ECHL.

For the 2009/10 season Madsen returned to Europe and played until 2013 for MODO Hockey of the Swedish Elitserien, where he was from 2010 assistant captain of his team. For the 2013/2014 season Madsen joined the Hamburg Freezers in the DEL.

Internationally

For Denmark Madsen took the junior level at the U18 World Junior Championships in 2004 and 2005 and the U20 World Junior Championships Division I in 2005, the 2006 and 2007. In the senior level, he stood in his country's squad at the World Championships in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
