Development

The Moscow Aviation Institute was founded on August 29, 1930 in Moscow as a merger of several Aviation Institute. The aim was to improve the education and teaching in the Soviet aviation and in particular to have the theoretical knowledge gained at TsAGI also feed into the practice.

The best-known professors of the institute were Andrei Nikolayevich Tupolev, Artem Ivanovich Mikoyan and Alexander Sergeyevich Yakovlev.
