Moskovskaya Gorodskaja phone Well Set or short MGTS (Russian Московская Городская Телефонная Сеть / Moskovskaya Gorodskaja phone Well Set) is the largest telecommunications provider in the Moscow region. MGTS is part of the Sistema Group and has over 4 million customers.

History

On July 1, 1882 The first telephone company was founded in Moscow by the International Bell Telephone Company. At first she had 800 points and 26 households, only two years later over 3,000 customers. In 1891, a Swedish- Danish- Russian joint venture has taken over the telephone service for 18 months. 1916 we had over 60,000 numbers. In 1994, MGTS was converted into a Russian joint stock company and incorporated into the Sistema Group.

Shareholder

In April 1995, Sistema acquired 25 percent of MGTS shares. Over the next three years, U.S. dollars have been invested over 106 million and expanded the capital share to over 50 percent.
