Moscow Metallurgical Plant

The Goujon plant (Russian Гужон ) was an engineering plant in the district Rogoschski of Moscow, which was in the time of the Soviet Union Metallurgical plant named Sickle and Hammer ( Serp i Molot ), today produces, inter alia, tubes and steel products.

The plant was built from 1882 to 1884. In January 1917 the strength of the workforce was 3270 workers. An organization of the RSDLP was established in March 1917 and in October 1917 was one of 75 members. The Department of the Red Guard included on 15./28. September 1917 about 150 fighters.

Its organizer was the Bolshevik J. D. Tumanow. During the October insurrection of 1917, the workers controlled the district Rogoschski, conquered the Krutizki ( later: Aljoschisnki ) barracks, fought against the cadets of the military school and Alexejewski against the cadet corps in Lefortovsky and participated in the battle for the Kremlin.
