Location of the Moscow ridge
The Moscow ridge is up to 311 m high, very elongated ridge in Russia.
The ridge is part of the great European Plain and the eastern continuation of the Smolensk heights. It lies to the northwest and northeast of Moscow; at its west end of the ridge is also seamlessly into the elongated central Russian plate.
The medium mountain -like landscape of the Moscow ridge is characterized by hilly and mountainous areas, pull through, lots of very deeply notched river valleys.
In Moscow ridge springs from the river Klyazma. The largest city is Moscow, which south of the ridge spreads.
