Moselkern

Mosel core is a municipality in the district Cochem-Zell, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality of Treis- carding and sits at the mouth of the Elzbach into the Moselle. Mosel core is a nationally recognized tourist.

Neighboring municipalities are weary (Mosel ) in the west, and Lasserg Wierschem in the north, as well as castles (Mosel) and Hatzenport in the Northeast.

History

A villa cores is called in 1100 in the nomenclature of goods of the St. Kastor in carding. With the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine in 1794 by French revolutionary troops ended the rule Kurtriers, until 1814 belonged to the canton Moselle core Munstermaifeld. 1815 it to the Congress of Vienna was assigned to the Kingdom of Prussia. Since 1946 it has been part of Rhineland- Palatinate then newly founded.

The local council in Mosel core consists of twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 by majority vote, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Blazon: "In black and a silver wavy pole, above a rotbewehrter and gezungter golden lion's head, front a golden grave, behind a golden miter. "

The wave-shaped drawbar refers to the confluence of the Elz river in the Mosel, where the town is located Mosel core. The grave stone is a picture of the excavated around 1800 Merovingian stone from the 7th century, one of the earliest Christian monumental representations of the West. At the church patron, St..   • In the immediate vicinity of the place, the Burg Eltz is ( district Wierschem ).
  • The Mosel Kerner Town Hall from 1535 is the oldest City Hall on the Moselle, the ( re) used as a town hall. In his nearly five hundred years of history, it also served as a school. 1909 a small monastery with daycare was set up in the building, which until 1969 had stock. The building is used again as the town hall since 2002.
