Moselle valley

The Moselle valley is a natural spatial feature unit group in the Rhenish Slate Mountains and thus the Central Upland Range. It is entirely in Rhineland -Palatinate and includes the valley of the Moselle in Germany of the Saar River estuary in Konz (Landkreis Trier -Saar castle ) to weary (Landkreis Cochem- Zell). Furthermore, the left of the Mosel river valley Wittlicher as well as the valley of the Saar Serrig is ( again Trier -Saar castle ) added to its confluence with the Moselle.

The location in the Middle Rhine area Estuary course of the Mosel is not expected to nature space below Müdens to German Corner in Koblenz. According to the district of Mayen -Koblenz has minimal edge - shares.

Position relative to other major groups of units

The Moselle valley stretches from the western border of Germany to the northeast, where it encounters the approximately perpendicular thereto Middle Rhine area, beyond which it is extended by watering - Koblenz Lahn valley. Links, ie north-west of the Moselle valley are Gutland and East Eifel, right and so southeast of the Hunsrück.
