Mostaganem (Arabic مستغانم Mustaghanam, Mustaġānam DMG ) is a town in northern Algeria with about 125,000 inhabitants.

Geography

The port city, founded in the 11th century lies on the Mediterranean coast of Algeria near Oran. The longest river in Algeria, the Cheliff, flows near the city into the Mediterranean. It is the capital of the province and has its own university, which maintains a cooperation with the Ruhr - University Bochum.
