Mösting (crater)

Mösting is a 26 km large and very deep crater on the mountainous border of the sinus Medii, near the center of the visible moon half.

Mösting has a sharp, regular crater wall and is hardly eroded, indicating a relatively young age. About 70 km to the south is the smaller Mösting A, which was chosen as the reference point for measuring selenografischer coordinates precisely because of its round shape in the 19th century. Its coordinates are 3 ° 10'47 " North, 5 ° 09'50 " West.
