Motherboard Monitor

Motherboard Monitor was a software that a PC was used to monitor important components on the main board (motherboard) for thermal and electrical quantities and thus perhaps made possible the early diagnosis of certain problems in the area of hardware.

Specifically such as the CPU were present temperatures, voltages and currents of components determined. Left one of the monitored values a predetermined range, Motherboard Monitor could respond by warnings (acoustic and / or optical) outputted launched a pre-established program or the computer has been shut down.

In July 2004, the development of the software has been set. The author mentions the lack of support for the motherboard manufacturer and the number of new graphics cards sensors as reasons. Despite the official cessation of development of Motherboard Monitor on 13 September 2006, there was still an update, the newer boards better supported. Thus, the current version is now 5.3.7.0 Update 2

Criticism

The problem is that the program needs to know what type is the monitored motherboard. If the type of the monitored board is not known or is not supported by this program, the use of Motherboard Monitor is practically impossible, since then would have to be present very detailed knowledge of the individual components of the motherboard.
