Motilal Nehru

Motilal Nehru (Hindi मोतीलाल नेहरू, Motilal Nehru, born May 6, 1861 in Agra, † February 6, 1931 in Lucknow ) was an Indian lawyer and a leading politician of the Indian National Congress. He first worked as a lawyer in the district courts of Kanpur. After three years Motilal Nehru moved to Allahabad to take action at the local high court.

Life

Nehru was in 1922 co-founded the Swaraj Party. He was a member of the Nehru - Gandhi family and the father of Jawaharlal Nehru.

He was also a Freemason and a member of Harmony Lodge in Kanpur.
