Motoharu Yoshizawa

Motoharu Yoshizawa (Japanese吉 沢 元 治, Motoharu Yoshizawa, * 1931 † 12 September 1998) was a Japanese jazz bassist.

Yoshiziwa been active since the 1960s as a jazz bassist. He worked with the Yoshiya June Group and Eiji Kitamura Quintet and entered 1966 with Elvin Jones in Tokyo. In the 1970s, he began a career as a solo bassist and recorded three solo albums. In addition, he has performed with musicians such as Derek Bailey, Steve Lacy, Keiji Haino, Barre Phillips, Keith Tippett and Fred Frith. In the 1990s, he played on a five-string bass of their own design.
