Motorik
Motor skills is a term which is mainly used by music journalists to refer to the special Krautrock rhythm in 4/4 beat. Motor activity was by the band New! developed with producer Conny Plank and popularized by the song " Autobahn" by Kraftwerk (1974). He is also present in the songs of other Krautrock bands ( Can, Faust ) and is considered one of the hallmarks of Krautrock.
Typical of motor skills is a continuous pulsating rhythm of 10 minutes or longer either little or no change.
The members of the band New! have not used the term. Klaus Dinger called the " New! Beat " sometimes called " Apache beat". Motor activity is also present in the songs from Devo, Stereolab and David Bowie.
