Mouans-Sartoux

Mouans -Sartoux ( Provence - Moans Sarto ) is a commune with 10,274 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Alpes -Maritimes and the Provence- Alpes- Côte d' Azur region. Its inhabitants are called Mouansois.

Geography

Mouans -Sartoux is in the Vallee grassoise between Cannes (twelve kilometers ) and Grasse ( eight kilometers ) in the immediate neighborhood of Mougins.

History

Mouans Sartoux and were originally two separate communities: Mouans in the plane and Sartoux on a hill called Castellaras.

1199 settled the Cistercian Abbot of Notre- Dame-des- Prés in Sartoux.
