Mouliherne

Mouliherne is a commune with 920 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Maine -et -Loire in the Pays de la Loire.

Geography

Mouliherne is in the countryside Baugeois in the center of extensive oak forests, as is in the north of the Forêt de Chandelais, west of the Forêt de Monnaie. It is drained by the River Olle. Mouliherne also the intersection of the department of roads D 58, D 59 and D 62

History

The name Mouliherne derived from the original name Molendinum forth. In the 15th century was Mouliherne country seat of the well-known noble family de la Touche. Culture and sights

The Romanesque church of St. Germain in the north of the town center occupies a dominant position. It was built in the 11th century instead of 1049 destroyed the fort.
