Mouloud Feraoun
Mouloud Feraoun ( born March 8, 1913 in the mountain village of Tizi Hibel in the region of Great Kabylia (Algeria ), the son of peasants, † March 15, 1962 in Algiers as a victim of a command of the OAS ) was an Algerian writer in French, which - partly autobiographical - novels about the fate of African workers in France wrote. His father worked for a time in France in a mine of Lens. After studying Feraoun worked as a teacher in Tizi Hibel, later outside Kabylia as a school director. For his novel Le fils du pauvre, he received the Grand Prix littéraire of Algiers. For his novel retaliation underground he received the Prix populiste.
