Moulton is a city in Lavaca County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city is located at the junction of Highway 95 with the Farm Roads 532 and 1680, to he the Southern Pacific Railroad in the central southeast Texas and has a total area of 2.1 km ² without significant water surface.

Demographic data

According to the census of 2000, there were 944 people in 383 households and 243 families. The population density was 444.5 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 95.87 % White, 0.74 % African American, 0.00 % Native American, 0.11 % Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander residents from the and 2.33 % from other ethnic groups. Approximately 0.95% were of mixed descent, and 13.14% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Of the 383 households 30.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them. 52.5 % were married couples living together. 9.1% were single mothers and 36.3 % were non-families. 32.9 % of all households were single-person households, and 24.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
