Moundou

Region

Moundou is a city in southern Chad and the capital of the Logone Occidental Region. With about 138,000 inhabitants, it is the second largest city in the country.

Geography

Moundou lies on the River Logone. The city has typical African savannah climate with year-round average temperatures of around 25 ° C and an annual rainfall of 1250 mm and a height of 420 m above sea level. M.

Since 1959, the city is the seat of the eponymous diocese of the Roman Catholic Church.
