Mount Carlisle

Mount Carlisle is a volcano in the Aleutian Island arc, Alaska. The mountain forms the namesake island Carlisle Iceland ( Aleutian Name: Kigalĝa ), which is one of the Islands of Four Mountains.

Although the volcanic layer is not particularly high 1620 m, covering a glacier a small area below the western crater rim.

Activity

Several outbreaks have been documented. However, it is possible that several eruptions of the nearby volcanoes were falsely attributed to Mount Carlisle especially long time ago. Due to the remoteness conducted from a distance observations of ash clouds can not be assigned safely.
