Mount Carroll is a small town and the county seat of Carroll County in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Illinois near the east bank of the Mississippi River. In 2000, Mount Carroll had 1,832 inhabitants.

Geography

Mount Carroll is located at 42 ° 05'44 " north latitude and 89 ° 58'37 " west longitude. The city covers an area of 13.2 km ², which consists exclusively of land area.
