Mount Ellsworth (Antarctica)

The Mount Ellsworth is with 2925 m the highest peak between the Steagall and the Amundsen Glacier. These form a section of the Queen Maud Mountains in Antarctica.

He was discovered in late November 1929 by Richard Evelyn Byrd during his flight over the Antarctic in the course of its first South Pole expedition. Was named the mountain after the U.S. aviation pioneer and polar explorer Lincoln Ellsworth.
