Mount Heemskirk

The Mount Heemskirk is a mountain in the west of the Australian state of Tasmania. It is located near the west coast and has been recognized by Abel Tasman on November 24, 1624 as the first landmark of the island.

Mining

By a mountain, and on the surrounding plateau tin mining was operated in the 1890s and at the beginning of the 20th century.
