Mount Oku rat

The Oku- rat ( Lamottemys okuensis ) is a rodent species from the group of Altweltmäuse ( Murinae ).

From the Oku- rat so far only four copies were found. The animals reach a body length 11-14 cm and a tail length of 11-13 centimeters. Two weighted animals reached 43 and 69 grams. Her fine fur is brown in color, the underside is lighter. The gray tail is covered with small scales and short hair.

The species is known only from the area of Mount Oku in Cameroon. It inhabits mountainous rain forests in 2100-2900 meters above sea level, otherwise nothing is known about their way of life. Your entire distribution area measures less than 100 square kilometers, about the nature of the IUCN as " critically endangered " ( endangered ) is listed.

Systematically, it is within the Altweltmäuse part of Oenomys group.
