The Talang ( Indonesian Gunung Talang, also Gunung Tallang, Gunung Salasi, Gunung Soelasih ) is a stratovolcano on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. The volcano is located in the province of Sumatera Barat about 35 kilometers east of the city of Padang.

From historic times eruptions of Talang in the years 1833, 1843, 1845, 1876, 1963, 1967 and 1968 are known. It was mostly small to medium sized explosive eruptions of smaller craters northeast of the summit are located in a valley. The peak with an altitude of 2597 meters has no crater.

In 1986, a Solfatarenfeld enlarged at Talang; in September 2001 there was a phreatic explosion. In April 2005, temporarily several thousand people from villages in the area were evacuated three miles around the Talang after ash eruptions. 2006 and 2007 there were further ash eruptions. After a tectonic earthquake in West Sumatra in August 2009 when several earthquakes were registered on Talang. Another volcanic eruption did not occur.
