Mount Tamalpais

The Mount Tamalpais ( Mount Tam also locally called ) is a mountain in Marin County, California, which is often used as a symbol of Marin County.
Conservation
A large part of the mountain area is legally protected by nature conservation. Examples are the Mount Tamalpais State Park or Mount Tamalpais Watershed. At the highest point ( East Peak ) is a fire lookout tower. Also popular with the residents of the Greater San Francisco recreation area Muir Woods National Monument is located at the foot of Mount Tamalpais to a creek.
Mountain bike
In 1973, a group of cyclists used the rough slopes of the mountain as a race track. The bikes were gradually to the specific needs improved, until finally came the mountain.
