Mountains and hills of Scotland

This list of mountains in Scotland leads appreciable surveys, ordered by the absolute height. Recorded are the highest 10 Munros, the highest elevations on Scottish islands, prominent local mountains, and otherwise scientifically interesting mountains.

The three main parts of the Highlands ( Grampian Mountains, North West Highlands and the islands ) and the Southern Uplands are very well defined, while a uniform and clear division into sub- groups does not exist ( cf. Section of the Alps). Note that this analysis is based on this Munro list ( English) the designation and delineation of subgroups to each other can therefore be different in other sources.
