History

1895 - 1950

The stadium was inaugurated in September 1895 with a game the home side Glenavon FC against Linfield Swifts. At that time it was no more than a lawn. In 1900, a series of six scoring seat grandstand was created from wood. She was about as long as 1/3 the length of the pitch. Later, the middle piece wings were built left and right, so the grandstand now revealed a side of the lawn and about 600 seats counted. In 1924, the property was purchased by the Glenavon FC. In the 1930s and early 1940s also greyhound races were held in the stadium.

1950 - 1990

During the season 1950/51 a small expansion was carried out. It has, for example, a wall construction, the surrounding area and the still surrounding ( 1977 fence has been added). The first standing in 1954 possible. In this case, it was heaped grassy hill on all sides still free. During the 60s these were extended to general admission grandstand and expanded to 1992 again and again. 1987 was installed as in all other Irish stadiums floodlighting.

1990 - Today

The current grandstand dates from 1993 and offers 1247 spectators in 10 rows a seat. In 2001, in the home grandstand, the Glenavon Crescent End, seating allows. However, on the request of some fans were a few standing untouched. 2002 then a new floodlighting was installed, which is held by not a few of the best in all of Ireland.

To German: Color; or the vision of Mourneview He refers to the sight of the stadium from a vantage point. From there you can see how the yellow stairs, the blue seats and gray concrete give an impressive picture.
