Mouse on Mars
Mouse on Mars is a German band. Since its founding in 1993, the duo is considered innovative and influential band in the area of abstract electronic music.
Band History
The band is from jan St. Werner and Andi Toma from Cologne (formerly Jean Park ) from Dusseldorf. Live and in the studio, the duo is regularly supported by the drummer and vocalist Dodo Nkishi.
To facilitate their publications, Toma and Werner In 1997, together with the Cologne author, musician and label owner Frank Dommert her own label sonig.
Therefore appear some side projects like Microstoria On sonig. Since 1999 the label is dedicated sonig an international program of musicians. Mouse on Mars, among others were also represented by the independent label Thrill Jockey.
The album Niun Niggung rose in 2000 in Germany to # 76 of the album charts before.
Mouse on Mars published in 2007 in collaboration with Mark E. Smith of The Fall Album Tromatic Reflexxions under the band name from Südenfed. In an interview, she announced in 2009 and 2010 more albums than from Südenfed for years.
At Christmas 2009, a new album by Mouse on Mars was announced.; ultimately, but only in early 2012 released their new album Parastrophics.
In the years 2005, 2008 and 2009 Mouse on Mars occurred on Events of the Goethe -Institut. From 22 October to 13 November 2010 Mouse on Mars played for the Goethe -Institut concerts in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, China and Vietnam.
