Movement for Socialism (Argentina)

The Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS; más in Spanish means "more" ) in Argentina is a grouping of Trotskyist roots. It was founded in 1982 by Nahuel Moreno as the successor of the Partido Socialista de los Trabajadores (PST) and led by Moreno until his death in 1987.

1989 reached the MAS in the presidential election, more than 400,000 votes and in the parliamentary elections in the same year on the Izquierda Unida coalition (IU ) a mandate in the Chamber of Deputies; nevertheless, the group experienced after the death of Moreno's 1987 internal factional struggles, in the course of which several political organizations split off. Currently, MAS is politically almost insignificant.
