Movement of Unitarian Communists

The Movimento dei Comunisti Unitari ( MCU) ( movement of the unit Communists ) was a political party in Italy, which was created on 14 June 1995 a split in the Partito della Rifondazione Comunista (PRC). The MCU belonged to the parliamentarians of the PRC, which had voted against the party line and contrary to the majority of the base of support of the government of Lamberto Dini.

At the parliamentary elections of 1996 the MCU occurred on lists of the Democratic Party of the Sinistra. The MCU was in 1998 in the newly established national leadership Sinistra (DS ) on. Within the DS, the former MCU members are among the currents "Una sinistra forte " and "A sinistra per il socialismo ".
