Movits!

Movits! is a band from Luleå in northern Sweden, which plays a mix of swing, interspersed with hip- hop elements in Swedish.

The band with their debut album Äppelknyckarjazz (Eng. " apples - Klauer Jazz " ) became known. It was released in November 2008 and was known for an article in the Swedish daily Dagens Nyheter in Sweden. In the United States Comedy Central Records brought out the album and also helped on an appearance on the Colbert Report show the band in the U.S. to a certain notoriety.

The name " Movits! " is a loan to fader Movitz, a character from the song and poem collection Fredmans epistlar ( Fredman's Epistle ) of the Swedish author and composer Carl Michael Bellman from the 18th century.

The band played five times at the South by Southwest ( SXSW ) showcase in Austin, Texas.
