The MOWAG Shark was a buoyant Radpanzer the Swiss manufacturer MOWAG.

History and Development

The Shark was designed as a heavy weapons support, the conventional battle tank to replace with chains. As a further development of the Piranha 1, he was fitted with steering on the front and on the rear axle, the two central axes are rigid / unguided. So could a tight turning circle (12.5 m) can be achieved. The suspension has a special feature. The first and the fourth axis have a single wheel suspension with conventional shock absorber and built-in shock absorber, the second and third axes have independent suspension with torsion bar springs and outlying bumpers to achieve optimum utilization of space in the interior of the vehicle. There was also the possibility to use the Shark without a tower as an infantry transporter. Driver and commander sit side by side, the engine is in the rear. It never came to mass production; it was built in 1981 only 3 prototypes. One of them is now at the military museum in Full.
