Mr Hudson is an English pop and R & B band.

Band History

Ben Hudson studied English Literature at Oxford, before he decided in 2006, along with his friend Huxley maps to form a band. For unusual band Instrumentation Joy Joseph was a member of the Steel Pan Drums and Torville Jones, a pianist with a classical education. They called themselves Mr Hudson and the Library. Also unusual is the style of music, Britpop mixed with R & B, Grime, Reggae, Jazz and other influences.

In October 2006 the first EP and an appearance on Later with Jools Holland already appeared in December provided additional popularity. The following year, a tour followed with appearances in British libraries as part of a long-standing project, however. They also went as the opening act for Amy Winehouse with her on tour. In the spring of her debut album, A Tale of Two Cities appeared. The literary allusion to Charles Dickens ( A Tale of Two Cities ) refers to Birmingham, where Hudson comes from, and London, where the band is based. Besides their own songs It also includes cover versions of On the Street Where You Live from the musical My Fair Lady and Matt Dennis ' Swing classics Everything Happens to Me album and debut single Too Late, Too Late was in 2007 a ​​first impression in the British charts.

It was followed by appearances at Glastonbury and other famous festivals as well as performances with Mika, Groove Armada and The Police. In addition, they were discovered by the U.S. rapper and producer Kanye West, Hudson took as a solo artist with his own label. The Library broke up, of the original members remained only Joy Joseph Wilkie Wilkinson and drummer in the band, two new ones were added and they were only on when Mr Hudson.

This was followed by a collaboration of Hudson with West at his album 808s & Heartbreak, which was released in late 2008. The common song Paranoid album reached the U.S. pop charts Genre least 34th West retaliated but with a guest appearance on Mr Hudson's single supernova. This was the first major hit, reaching # 2 on the UK charts. She appeared as a preliminary issue by the second album, Straight No Chaser.

Except with Kanye West Ben Hudson also worked with Jay -Z together on his album Blueprint 3, which contains the common song Young Forever, a cover version of the classic Alphaville Forever Young.
