The Mega Smeralda is a ferry to the Italian shipping company Corsica Ferries. It was built in 1985 under the name Svea at the former Wärtsilä shipyard in Helsinki, Finland. It is 168 meters long, 27.60 meters wide and has a draft of 6.70 meters. With engine power of 26,200 kW, reaches a top speed of 22 knots. History

The ship was launched on 28 September launched in 1984 and was baptized in the name Svea. After completion in May 1985, the ferry on May 7, was delivered to the shipping company Johnson Line, headquartered in Stockholm and used for the Silja Line on the route from Stockholm via Mariehamn to Turku.
