The Kristina Katarina was a cruise ship in the Finnish Kristina Cruises, which was placed in 1982 as a ferry Konstantin Simonov of the former Soviet Far East Seereederei in service.

The sister ships are Dmitriy Shostakovich, Georg Ots, Mikhail Suslov, Lev Tolstoy, Mikhail Sholokhov and Konstantin Chernenko.

History

Konstantin Simonov

The launching of the ship with construction number B 492/ 03 took place on 17 April 1981, the Polish shipyard Stocnia Szczecinska in Adolfa Warskiego in Szczecin. It is one of the products manufactured from 1980 to 1986 series of seven ships of Dmitriy Shostakovich - class.

The ship was named after the writer Konstantin Simonov. After the Konstantin Simonov was delivered in April 1982, the crew came from the Far East on board, and began her maiden voyage from Riga to Cuba. On the way back the ferry was directed to Odessa, where it remained under the command of the Ministry of the naval fleet of the USSR of 10 August 1982. The ship was operated as a cruise ship for Soviet and foreign tourists on the Black Sea, Mediterranean Sea and in " Travel to Europe " on the Baltic Sea. After the sinking of the Mikhail Lermontov the Leningrad Baltic shipping company had this need for replacement, so the Konstantin Simonov was handed over to the Baltic shipping company on January 9, 1987.

1987-1988 the ship at Lloyd Werft in Bremerhaven was modernized and on the track Leningrad - used Saint Petersburg - Helsinki. Kristina Katarina

On 11 December 2009 the Finnish company Kristina Cruises bought the 1A ice-strengthened ship - to replace their 1960 -built Kristina Regina. Since 24 February 2010, the home port of the vessel Kotka, and Kristina Katarina was modernized by Almaco Group in Kotka and Naantali, with all 193 rooms, stairwells, conference hall, restaurant, etc. have been refurbished.

From 31 August 2010 the first cruise to the Mediterranean took place. On 5 October 2010, the Kristina Katarina visited her former home port Odessa. In May 2012, it was first used in the Mediterranean, and later in the Baltic Sea and the Norwegian fjords and Spitsbergen.

On 8 January 2014, the ship was sold to two international investors and renamed Ocean Endeavour.
