The cruise ship The Calypso was built in 1967 as Canguro Verde ( often renamed after Durr, Ionian Harmony, Sun Fiesta, Regent Jewel, Calypso to 2007) and belonged to the Greek owner Shineco Inc in Athens. Ship history

The cruise ship The Calypso was founded in 1967 by the Italcantieri SpA (now Fincantieri ) south of Naples, built in Castellammare di Stabia as ferry Canguro Verde.
