MS Zenobia

The Zenobia was a Swedish ro-ro ferry, laden on her maiden voyage from Sweden to Syria, trucks dropped in July 1980 shortly before Larnaca.

Reason for their demise was a mistake in the computer that had a conditional by the charge heeling not compensated by controlled filling of the water tank on the opposite side of the ship, but enhanced by filling the wrong side. The increasing tendency to the starboard side caused after a few days the sinking.

The Zenobia is a favorite among divers wreck today. It is with its length of 172 meters one of the largest wrecks in the Mediterranean and can be good dive to 42 meters for divers with different education levels due to water depths of 18 m.
