MT-Energie GmbH, located in Zeven is active in the renewable energy industry in the field of biogas technology. MT-Energie develops and sells both turnkey biogas plants and biogas - engineered components. Other benefits include its technical and biological process of biogas plants. Which was established in 2008, subsidiary MT biomethane GmbH, the MT group also offers technical equipment for processing biogas. The offer includes gas processing plants on the basis of heat-controlled pressurized amine washing and the current-carrying membrane technology.
History
The company was founded in 1995 - initially as an engineering firm Idea - founded by Christoph Martens. In the first years of business activities, the development of biogas special components was the focus. So Martens invented in 1997, the so-called air-inflated film cover for biogas plants. This technology has become the standard in the market and is now used by various manufacturers of biogas plants. With the establishment of MT-Energie GmbH & Co. KG, the company devoted from 2001 reinforced the turnkey construction of biogas plants. Since then, MT-Energie has developed into one of the leading suppliers in the field of biogas technology. Until the end of 2012 about 580 biogas projects have been implemented with a total installed capacity of approximately 350 megawatts. In 2006, the company established its first foreign subsidiary in Italy. Today, MT-Energie has various international agencies.
The seat of MT-Energie was originally in Rockstedt in Lower Saxony Rotenburg (Wümme ). In November 2008, the company moved to Zeven. On a 62,300 m² site of a new headquarters was built with office buildings, logistics and production facility for gas processing plants.
In the first half of 2013, the business of MT-Energie has declined sharply developed. Revenue for the period was 16.8 million euros. Compared to the same period last year which represents a decrease of approximately 60 percent. The operating result amounted to minus € 16.1 million ( previous year: minus € 11.6 million). Consolidated net income after taxes was € -19.8 million ( prior-year period minus € 12.0 million ). The result of the first half of the year includes € 8.8 million one-time charges, including risk provisions, impairments and provisions for restructuring expenses.
In order to improve the cost structure of the company, extensive Restrukturierungsmaßmen were launched. As is well known MT-Energie announced in a press release dated September 16, 2013, are to be saved in 2014 overhead costs in the amount of € 15 million. Personnel actions make it an essential part of the savings: At the main Zeven and in the foreign branches around 80 jobs will be eliminated.
As part of the reorganization of the management of the company was reorganized. As CEO and Chairman of acts since October 1, 2013 Markus Niedermayer. Last time was Niedermayer CEO and Chief Executive Officer of MHG Group, which emerged in 2005 from the MAN Heating Technology GmbH. The position of COO was occupied with Karsten wishes, who was previously a managing director of the MT- biomethane GmbH within the MT group.
DLG Image Barometer
According to a study by the German Agricultural Society (DLG ) MT-Energie enjoys a high reputation. In the " Image Barometer 2012", the company is in the category of renewable energy with 88.1 points out of 100 for second place.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Since the end of 2010, MT-Energie Archers team of the German Disabled Sports Association of the company's own warehouse and logistics center to prepare for the summer season. Among the participants are athletes who have achieved in recent years in the World Championships and Paralympics excellent rankings.
