Mtispiri

Mtispiri (Georgian მთისპირი ) is a village in Georgia, in the region of Guria, in the municipality Osurgeti. It is located on the right bank of the river Bachwiszqali, approximately 16 kilometers due east Osurgeti. In 2010 Mtispiri had 285 inhabitants.

The area surrounding the village is mountainous. The climate is subtropical, the average temperature in summer is 18 to 25 degrees Celsius.

Mtispiri is one of the oldest villages in Georgia. The area around the hamlet -like village was already inhabited in the early antiquity. In Mtispiri are the early medieval fortress Askana and a late medieval church. A cultural center is the center of the village.
