Mud is an American film drama directed by Jeff Nichols from 2012 starring Matthew McConaughey and Reese Witherspoon in the lead roles.

The film is about two boys who help a fugitive to escape the bounty hunters, and bring it back to make it back to his great love.

At the realization of Mud film production companies Brace Cove Productions and film Nation Entertainment were involved.
The film was first presented on 26 May 2012, the International Film Festival in Cannes the audience. In addition, he was seen on January 19, 2013 at the Sundance Film Festival. The U.S. theatrical release of the film took place on 26 April 2013. In German cinemas he was not yet to be seen.

The film a positive rating on the website Rotten Tomatoes peaked at 98 percent of the reviewers.
