Mudanya

Mudanya is a small health resort with 47 178 inhabitants ( 2008) in northwestern Turkey on the Marmara Sea. The Greek name of the place is identical (Greek Μουδανιά ). Mudanya is a district of Bursa Province.

Mudanya is connected by two ferry connections with Istanbul, the largest city of Turkey. Travel time is with the high speed catamaran about 90 minutes.

In World War Mudanya achieved historical significance by the fact that it was the last place of modern Turkey, which Allied occupation troops occupied. The most famous son and soldier Mudanyas, Şükrü Çavuş, had a considerable share in the retreat of the Allies.
