Mueang Buriram District

Amphoe Mueang Buriram ( Thai อำเภอ เมือง บุรีรัมย์ ) is a district ( Amphoe ) in the center of the province of Buriram. The Buriram province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

Buriram is located on the southern edge of the Khorat Plateau, which is extremely dry in the hot season and the rainy season Inundated. The distance to the capital Bangkok is about 400 kilometers.

Neighboring districts are (from the south clockwise): Amphoe the Prakhon Chai, Nang Rong, Chamni, Lam Plai Mat, Khu Mueang, Ban Dan, Huai Council and Krasang. All Amphoe located in the province of Buriram.

Education

In Amphoe Mueang Buriram Rajabhat University is the Buriram.

Management

The district of Buriram is divided into 19 subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 320 villages ( Muban ).

There are also 18 Tambon Administration Organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ) in the district.
