Mueang Chanthaburi District

Amphoe Mueang Chanthaburi ( Thai: อำเภอ เมือง จันทบุรี ) is a district ( Amphoe ) in the province of Chanthaburi. The Chanthaburi province is located in the eastern part of the central region of Thailand. The provincial capital of Chanthaburi is also the capital of the district Mueang Chanthaburi.

Geography

Chanthaburi is located in the south-eastern Thailand amidst a lush level of Maenam Chanthaburi only slightly from the coast on the Gulf of Thailand. The distance to the capital Bangkok is about 245 kilometers.

Neighbouring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Khao the Khitchakut, Makham Khlung, Laem Sing and Tha Mai Chanthaburi province.

Education

In Amphoe Mueang Chanthaburi is the Rajabhat University Rambhai Barni.

Administrative units

The district Mueang Chanthaburi is divided into eleven communities ( tambon), which in turn are subdivided into 98 villages ( Muban ):

Chanthaburi itself has a city - state ( thesaban Mueang ), it consists of the whole tambon Talat and Wat May

Furthermore, there are five small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Phlapphla Narai consists of parts of tambon Khlong Narai Phlapphla and,
  • Chanthanimit consists of the whole tambon Chantha Nimit,
  • Tha Chang, Nong Bua and Bang Ka Cha each consist of parts of the tambon same name.

There are also eight - Tambon administrative organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ) in the district.
