Mueang Lampang District

Lampang ( Thai: อำเภอ เมือง ลำปาง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Lampang. The Lampang Province is located in the northern region of Thailand. The provincial capital is also called Lampang Lampang.

Geography

Lampang is located about 100 kilometers southeast of Chiang Mai in a vast plain of Maenam Wang, distance from the capital Bangkok is about 600 kilometers.

Neighboring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Mueang Pan which, Chae Hom, Mae Mo, Mae Tha, Ko Kha and Hang Chat Lampang Province, Amphoe Mae Tha of Lamphun Province and Amphoe Mae On the province of Chiang Mai.

Education

In Amphoe Mueang Lampang Rajabhat University is the Lampang and an annexe campus of Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna.

Management

Amphoe Mueang Lampang is in 19 communities ( tambon) divided, further in 179 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

The large ( thesaban Nakhon ) Lampang ( Thai: เทศบาล นคร ลำปาง ) Tambon Wiang Nuea includes the entire, Suan Dok, Sop Tui and parts of the tambon Hua Wiang, Phichai, Chompoo, Phrabat and Bo hao.

The city ( Mueang thesaban ) Khelang Nakhon ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง เขลา ง ค์ นคร ) covers the whole tambon Kluai Phae and Pong Saen Thong and parts of the tambon Phrabat and Chompoo.

There are also two small towns ( Tambon thesaban ):

  • Bo hao ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ่อ แฮ้ ว ) consists of parts of the tambon Bo hao,
  • Phichai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล พิชัย ) consists of parts of TambonPhichai.

In addition, there are eleven " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
