Mueang Mukdahan District

Amphoe Mueang Mukdahan ( Thai อำเภอ เมือง มุกดาหาร ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Mukdahan. The Mukdahan Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the Isaan. The capital of the district Mueang Mukdahan Mukdahan is also called.

Geography

The district of Mukdahan is located on the west bank of the Mekong River, opposite the belonging to Laos province Sawannakhet. The provincial capital is nearly 750 kilometers from the capital Bangkok.

Neighboring districts ( from the southeast clockwise): the Amphoe Don Tan, Nikhom Kham Soi Nong Sung, Khamcha -i, Dong Luang of Mukdahan Province, Amphoe That Phanom Nakhon Phanom Province and Amphoe Wan Yai, in turn, from the province of Mukdahan.

History

The city and the surrounding area were long under the influence of Laotian and Khmer rulers, whose traces are still visible today. 1982 was Mukdahan provincial capital, when the government established the province of Mukdahan in the course of administrative decentralization.

Management

Amphoe Mueang Mukdahan is divided ( tambon) in 13 municipalities, which further into 143 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

The city ( Mueang thesaban ) Mukdahan ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง มุกดาหาร ) covers parts of tambon Mukdahan and the complete tambon Si Bun Rueang.

There are nine small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Dong Yen ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง มุกดาหาร ) consisting of the entire Tambon Dong Yen
  • Kham A Huan ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล คำ อา ฮวน ) consisting of the whole tambon Kham A Huan,
  • Muk ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล มุก ) consisting of other parts of the tambon Mukdahan,
  • Bang Sai Yai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บาง ทราย ใหญ่ ) consisting of the whole tambon Bang Sai Yai
  • Ban Khok ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้าน โคก ) consisting of the entire Tambon Ban Khok
  • Phon Sai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โพนทราย ) consisting of the whole tambon Phon Sai
  • Phung Daet ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ผึ่ง แดด ) consisting of the whole tambon Phung Daet
  • Pa Kham Lai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล คำ ป่า หลาย ) consisting of the whole tambon Kham Pa Lai
  • Dong Mon ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ดง มอน ) consisting of the entire Tambon Dong Mon

There are also three " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
